Speedy Trial Update

On 9 January 2011, the defense filed a demand for speedy trial with the Government.  PFC Manning has been in pretrial confinement since 29 May 2010.  Since 12 July 2010, the case has been on Government requested excludable delay under R.C.M. 707(c).   This delay request by the Government was approved by the court-martial convening authority.

The case is currently awaiting the start of a Rule for Courts-Martial (R.C.M) 706 Board.  This board will likely begin its work in February.

One would think. But the "excludable delay" means one thing to me: Adrian Lamo's chat logs - the parts that have been made public - are the only "hard evidence" that this utterly, openly fascist government has against Bradley Manning and Julian Assange. And Adrian Lamo's character has been revealed time and again to be untrustwirthy. Which means the governmet has no evidence! This is why they have him under MCD and POI conditions - to destroy him!

  5. People like Lamo make me sick and have no honor what so ever but instead our criminal "justice" system encourages cowards like him...I practice non-violence as a general rule but Lamo and cowards like him deserve...well I'll leave that unsaid.

  6. Bradley Manning is a hero.

Please remember, Mr. Coombs, that when you defend him, you are defending informed democracy. You are defending the rights of every one of your fellow human brings by fighting for a world in which government for the people by the people remains possible.

  7. It would be ironic if, in the end, it was Adrian Lamo who posted the files on Wikileaks after receiving them from Bradley.

Our energies go to Bradley for his continued resistance to oppression and depression.
