Fort Leavenworth Update

It has been a little over two months since PFC Manning was moved from Quantico to the Joint Regional Corrections Facility (JRCF) at Fort Leavenworth.  Since being moved to the JRCF, PFC Manning's overall mood and demeanor has greatly improved.  PFC Manning is able to maintain regular contact with his defense team.  He receives weekly written updates, phone calls and visits from defense counsel.  In addition, he receives regular visits from family.  Finally, PFC Manning also receives hundreds of letters from supporters every week.  He wishes to extend his sincere appreciation to those who have taken the time to send along their thoughts and well-wishes.

  2. We Are All Bradley Manning....

Please know, not one minute of the cruel suffering he endured for freedom of speech was wasted.

The courage he has displayed is the highest a human can achieve.

He is truly a great man!!!

  3. I am so glad that Bradley is getting regular visits from his family.

It is great that he is getting letters of praise for actions that he might or MIGHT NOT have carried out and I am sure that they must do a lot to raise his spirits, but without the balance of support from his family, I am slightly concerned that such letters may pressurize him into making a decision that is not best for him.

  4. Manning, the best of us are rooting for you and we understand the world 'alleged'. Regardless you are symbolic and I hope that does not go against you.

I am very happy that your conditions improved.

This will be a letter TO him, and we would like people all over the world to sign it in support, upon launch. We will also be making a short film, made up of YOUR messages to and about Bradley! Please join us in sending Bradley a boatload of love and hope and gratitude from around the world! Please join us - so that we can tell the US government we will NOT accept the way Bradley was treated, and, that we believe that whomever released these docs is ultimately a whistle-blower. We stand with Bradley.

Thank you for the update. It is such a relief to hear this!

  7. Thank you for informing us that Bradley Manning is receiving and responding to better treatment. This is reassuring as the previous inhumane treatment reflected very poorly on the US military & consequently on all of us.

  8. I find it offensive that Private Manning is treated in this way. I acknowledge & appreciate that his detention conditions have improved. There is no end to the support & admiration the population of earth have for this young man. I go on to point out that the defence department really needs to decide the reason for their existence. If they can`t follow their own moral codes & laws what right do they have to judge anyone else? When an organisation is infiltrated is it not better to concentrate on the worst first. As far as I knew the oath is to honor & defend the citizens of the United States. Bradley Manning has done exactly that!He has taken it one step further,he has taken it global. He has the gratitude & respect of the people. Something the real patriot defence force prides itself on. You say you got grit ? Join the winning side. Bradley Manning`s side! Cast out the other ones & do a service to your country !

  9. I am happy to hear that Bradley Manning is doing better. I have followed his saga mostly through Glen Greenwald's articles and found your site first today. The US government has treated Manning, suspect of the leaks, in a shameful and unnecessarily hard way. I hope that he will gain his freedom not after decades, but much earlier. I also think that whoever gave Wikileaks the documents has done a great favor to the people in the US and in the whole world who want peace and democracy, and I wanted to thank him or her for that.

  12. It has been well over a year since Bradley Manning's liberty has been taken away. When is this case going to be ready for trial? What is the cause of the excessive delays in bringing this case to trial? What happened to the speedy trial rule?

  13. Charges are out, he was found fit to stand trial ... where's another demand for a speedy trial??? Otherwise demand to drop the charges !!! But just silence????

Although I know everything will be rejected anyway and they will lock Bradley Manning up forever, but one needs to challenge them!!! Get them out of their comfort zone!!! Are you a lawyer who is willing to challenge its own government no matter what??? Just wondering... I hope so!!!
D.Kucinich seems to be a guy of words, not of action. Otherwise he would've put way more pressure on his cronies in order to get the okay to visit Bradley Manning, or better just drive there and tell them visiting Bradley Manning belongs to his DUTIES - otherwise call the media. But probably his "engagement" was just a PR gag. Politicians *rollingeyes

  14. Thank you for expeditiously addressing the mistreatment that Manning was enduring at Quantico. Confinement facility OICs have too much leeway to abuse their power, and they need to be called out on it publicly and with full transparency in cases like this. I hope you continue to pursue the administrative action against both commanders of Quantico for their behavior, and that they receive appropriate documentation in their OMPFs.
